The house was better than pictures with TVs in every bedroom and well equipped kitchen. Just a little detail: there was no beach chairs and we have to go and buy some, but the place was wonderful, close to the beach, quiet neighborhood and super well equipped house.

I think I put it all in the other reviews. I wrote a lot about the location before running out of space. I'd tell them its an amazing place to go if you like quiet. With the storm, there was literally ONE other family on the entire block that was coming out every day. But on the 4th of July we saw low crowds too. You NEVER have to fight for a spot. One of my rules is never go to a beach that has a sexual innuendo restaurant. Grew up going to Nags Head. Now they sadly have a Dirty Dick's. It is 3 to 4 minutes from living room to chair on the beach (or the sound). That's a big deal.

LOVE The South End for its tranquility, low density, & proximity to both beach & sound. Feels like a secret I should keep. The GREAT thing about The Point is the geography & zoning prohibit over-building. Its a great space. With 7 people we made good use of the game room upstairs. The 2nd bathroom is only accessible through a bedroom, so 5 people ended up sharing the hall bathroom. But I only ever used the spacious, hot water, outside shower (better for the pipes). Wife and I chose the upstairs King bed. Private balcony, adjacent to game room. That was an easy trade off for no bathroom. Loved the parking too. The house is updated, clean, spacious, and practical. AC worked fabulously. We cooked every night. Brought tons of food. Big fridge. Our M.O. for the last 18 years has been sampling all the spots. Bald Head, Atlantic, Carolina, Kitty Hawk, Sunset, Salvo, Hatteras, Emerald Isle, etc. This was our 2nd time on The South End and both the house and location sit atop our list.
